The black key to the immediate right of G is called G sharp. The black key to the immediate right of F is called F sharp. The black key to the immediate right of D is called D sharp. It is a semitone (half a tone) higher than C. The black key immediately after C is C sharp. Sharp means to go a semitone higher while flat means a semitone lower. How about the black keys? The black keys are either sharp or flat. After this note we have G A B C D E and F, and it keeps repeating. The key immediately to the left of a set of three black keys is an F. The other white keys are in this order, D E F G, then A B and another C. Every key immediately to the left of a set of two black keys is a C. The black keys are in sets of twos and threes.
